Our bottle drive continues through the summer: We are still collecting donated bottles towards the goal of resurfacing our curling stones.
Bottles can be dropped off the LAST Wednesday of each month during the Summer from 10:30am – 1:30pm.
Dates: April 24th, May 29th, June 26th, July 31st, August 28th.
A big ask:
- JUST refundable bottles, cans, milk jugs. No recycling material like Starbucks or Timmies cups (yuck!)
- For now, please NO Juice or Tetra packs of any kind. Parksville Depot currently does not accept them.
- Please RINSE out your containers before bringing them to the rink.
PPC had a great day Saturday February 24th as more than 30 curlers took to the ice enjoying 4 end games with crazy scoring rules! Members tried doubles, 6 pack , sturling and stick games. Folks brought enough food for our pot luck that the tables were groaning. We participated in Curling Canada's Big Shootout with approx 25 curlers trying 3/5 times to hit the pin exactly. Pretty challenging to get exactly on that pin!! But Sussana Coumadin’s was able to get us one shot exactly on the pin and there were many others in the 4 foot.
A terrific time was had by all. Many thanks to the sponsors and our always terrific volunteers who assisted.

The 2024 Oceanside Masters Curling Bonspiel took place January 5-7 in Qualicum Beach and Parksville. The event co-hosted by the Qualicum Curling Centre and the Parksville Curling Club had 32 teams participating with players aged 55 and older including men’s, women and mixed teams representing nine different curling clubs from Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland.
The bonspiel wrapped up Sunday with a banquet at the Qualicum Community Hall, recognizing the the following winners:
- Quality Foods "A" Event – Al Herbertson team from Alberni Valley;
- Dolly’s Home Hardware "B" Event – Lyle Boyce team from Campbell River;
- Lordco "C" Event – Stu Shaw team from Qualicum;
- Pacific Coast Masters Curling Association "D" Event – Bruce Feltham team from Parksville;
- Chuck’s Automotive "E" Event – Randy Ohno team from Qualicum.
The host clubs thank the event sponsors for their support, as well as the teams and volunteers that made this year’s bonspiel such a success. A special thanks to Charlies Shier & Verne McShane for all their hard work organizing the bonspiel and to the ice makers Eric (Qualicum) and Tim (Parksville). It was a great weekend of curling!
The 2024 Women's Open was held this past weekend on January 12-14. We had 24 Teams - half from out of town. A good time was had by all.
This was a bonspiel for all ages. We had every decade represented from teens to players in their senior years. One great moment was when we all sang Happy Birthday at the Saturday night banquet to a young player who turned 19 that day. She added to this celebration along with her Teammates by winning the A Event on Sunday.
Another highlight of the Bonspiel was that the runner up in the A Event was a Mother-daughter Team (Mom skipped) from Port Alberni with a granddaughter watching from the stands.
