The Parksville Curling Club is proud to host the 2009-2010 Women's Coastal Playdowns (November 28 - 30). Eleven top women's teams representing the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island will be vying for three positions in the Scotties Provincials, being held in Penticton in January.
This year's field consists of Junior Champions, Scott Tournament of Hearts Champions, World Champions, and Olympic Champions...and these are just the skips! There is also a local connection, with Lynne Noble's rink out of Nanaimo, Penny Shantz's team from Qualicum Beach, Campbell River's Darah Provencal playing for Kelley Law and Georgina Wheatcroft returning to Parksville representing Cloverdale.
Entry for all draws is free of charge and there is ample arena seating for everyone wanting to attend. Come out and support your favourite teams or just come out and see some of the best curling in the world first hand.
